SHRINE OF THE DIVINE MERCY

A Shrine is a holy place where prayer, silence and meditation on spiritual life are paid. It is a place dedicated for pilgrimage in order to meditate on a particular mystery of faith. The Kabuga Shrine of the Divine Mercy is located in the Parish of Kabuga, Archdiocese of Kigali. It is 21 km from the city of Kigali, on the road to Rwamagana. It is 1 km from the Kabuga city center going to Rusororo cemetery.

THE MISSION OF THE SHRINE OF DIVINE MERCY

The Shrine’s mission is to be a place:

• for meditation on the mystery of Divine Mercy and of promotion of the Divine Mercy devotion
• for contemplation of the suffering of Christ in order to link our own suffering with the victory of Christ on the cross
• for supervising the groups of the Divine Mercy in order to give them an adequate theological training and give birth to the « Divine Mercy Movement »
• to promote the Church’s Social Teaching and to encourage it’s practice so that Christians can become new signs of hope.
