The Bethlehem Chapel
Bethlehem symbolizes the meeting place, the union between heaven and earth, God and Man through Jesus Christ. God, out of his infinite mercy, came down to earth to meet the man in his misery to show him the way of salvation. This path is symbolized by the signs of fire and water present in this chapel. Fire and water are the symbols of the Holy Spirit as well.
Chapel of the holy Cross
On the cross all our misfortunes were nailed. The holy cross is a sign of God’s infinite love for humanity. God did not want to keep for his own his son, but handed him over to men out of his mercy.
Chapel of the holy tomb of Jesus
In this chapel there is a symbol of Mount Calvary, that is, the stone probably covered of the blood of Jesus Christ. This stone was picked from Mount Calvary in Jerusalem, where the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ was set. When Jesus was buried, he buried all our iniquities. We too offer him all the evil that is ravaging our lives and the world. Only Jesus is able to remove the large stone which currently covers the lives of most of us (discouragement, grief, hatred, widowhood and other obstacles in the life of human kind). This chapel reminds us that the secret of mercy is to draw good from evil. We are also invited to offer to Jesus all our problems.
